BY RAIL

Via Hinchley Wood station (train journey 30 minutes from Waterloo)

NB: this is the easiest option. At the station, go to the “exit” end of the platform, walk up the main stairs and turn right along the bridge at the top. Walk down the stairs, follow the path to the left and then almost immediately turn right at the path’s T-junction along a short alley between fences heading towards houses. At the end of the alley the road goes off to the left. After 30 yards, turn right along Eastmont Road (by the post box), and at the end of it (after a left-hand bend) turn right on to Couchmore Avenue. At the main road (Portsmouth Road) cross over, turn right, walk under the railway bridge and the Old Cranleighans drive is first left.  (12-14 minute walk)

Via Esher station (train journey 28 minutes from Waterloo).

There are two walking options from Esher station:

  • By road – Turn left out of the station into Station Road, turning left when you reach the main road (Portsmouth Road). Continue to the Scilly Isles roundabout, crossing Hampton Court Way and continuing along Portsmouth Road towards Kingston. The Old Cranleighan Club is 600 yards on the left, immediately after the long railway bridge. Turn up the drive across the Common, forking right at the houses. (12-15 minute walk)
  • By footpath – Turn right out of station into Station Road and turn right north of the railway along a path. Cross over Hampton Court Way and continue along path opposite towards club. (10-12 minute walk)

Via Thames Ditton station (train journey 30 minutes from Waterloo)

There are two walking options from Thames Ditton station:

  • By footpath – Please note, there are two footpath options, both of which might be difficult in dark and wet conditions. OPTION 1: Turn left out of station along Weston Green Road, turn 3rd left into Longmead Road and then right, after a few yards, into the sports ground. (Please note that there is a gate here which is sometimes locked at night. If open, go across first sports ground and past the pavilion, and head for floodlights and second clubhouse (total 10-12 minutes walk). If the gate is closed, you can revert to option 2. OPTION 2: Go to the end of Longmead Road, a cul-de-sac, and just before the last houses there is a footpath off to the right. This takes you around the OC pitches to the club driveway, or you can cut across the pitches. This route can be muddy and is longer than option 1.
  • By road – Turn right out of station along Station Road, following round to the right along Watts Road, which leads into Giggs Hill Road. Turn right at the main road (Portsmouth Road) and continue under the railway, turning right just before the next railway bridge up the drive across the Common to the club, forking right at the houses. (20 minute walk)
